Magsafe Ergotron Arm Holder for your Smartphone.

1. Introduction

For the short story, I like to have a clean desk so I wanted to:

• have a magasafe wireless charger for my smartphone onto my ergotron support.
• be able to check my phone at the same time and charge my earphones.
• be able to mode the phone here and there when required.
• be able to dismantle everything quickly from my desk to another desk for instance, ideally based on magsafe magnets.

Therefore,

1. I bough a magsafe suction cup arm to put on my ergotron support thanks to a designed holder to insert in the stand tube of the ergotron.
2. I bought a magsafe wireless charger to stick my phone on it.
3. I assemble the magsafe arm to the wireless charger with an adapter that contains a magnet ring.

All in all, everything is "magsafely assembled".

1. All elements
   • PETG or PLA. (better in PETG I think)
   • Layer Height: 0,3 mm is ok
   • Min 2 perimeters
   • No Support
   • Min 20% infill
   • Infill Pattern: 
     • For the adapter: gyroid
     • For the ergotron support: concentric chord for bottom layer and archimidean chord elsewhere.

• 1x Quad Lock Magsafe Ring (or something similar but strong) MAG Case - Coloured Ring - Quad Lock® Europe - Official Store (quadlockcase.eu)
• The printed parts
• 4x M3 square nuts and 4x M3x10 hex socket head screws (DIN912).

5. Manufacturing and Assembly Instructions

1. Print all parts.
2. Carefully deburr them. It is really important, especially where we will put the M3 square nuts and screws.
3. Insert the M3 nuts.
4. Place the magsafe magnet ring into the bottom part of the adapter.
5. Place the adapter around the wireless charger head. Screw everything.
6. Place the ergotron support into the tube.
7. Assemble the suction cup arm onto the ergotron support.
8. Adjust the arm.
9. Finally, just plug the wireless charger with the magsafe function to the arm. And then your magsafe phone to the charger. Ajust in the way you want.
10. BONUS: with the wireless charger I recommend, my magsafe wallet can also be attached on the bottom of it. So even less things on the desk ;)

Note: If the suction cup does not adhere sufficiently for your need, you'll have to post-process the support surface. Grinding, polishing, spray a coating, glue a glass, etc.

Personally, as I had a quite heavy load to hold, it was not sufficient in the long term. So I coated the surface with 4 layers of varnish. Problem solved ;)

5. Notes

• G-code file only made for MK3S+. The file contains some custom lines to add a pre-heating before the printing to avoid oozing during the mesh bed levelling. And a timer at the end of the print to buzz a sound once the parts has cooled down. 
• Do not use the g-code file on other machines than MK3S+ ! In any case, I recommend you to slice the .stp files by yourself to make your own g-code files.
