Description

A ‘shoe’ for the drive center. It lets you hold it firmly on the palm of your hand and so ‘slam’ the MT home safely and securely. No risk of the sharp 9 mm center pin piecing the rag you would otherwise probably grab for this. The load is taken not on the pin or on the teeth but on the flat area between the center pin and the circle of teeth. There's a good amount of material between the palm of your hand and the pin. Same when you kick the drive out of the MT in the spindle. You can hold it with your full hand, so even if your drive it sits tightly and you have to use the kickout rod with a bit more force there is no risk you accidentally drop it.  Last but not least, if you need to store your drives in a toolbox, the shoe protects both the bit and what's around it.

This one is for the 21 mm Axminster Woodturning Pro drive. I made it immediately when I got this drive because of the good experience I had with the shoes I made for my Record Power Hawk drives

I printed from Fiberlogy Fiberflex 40D on a Prusa MK4. I used 0.40 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers. No supports, no brim required.
