Description
This is a Mug Carrier, to help reduce the risk of spilling while carrying a full mug of coffee/tea.
It prints in 6 parts, which slide/snap together, so it should be easy to print & assemble. Printing the arms laying down means the layer lines will provide the most strength, and makes them less likely to snap at the layers. Other designs out there only have one support arm, so they're very thick and take a long time to print.
MugCarrier_all.stl has all parts in one, if your print-bed is large enough. Otherwise I also included the individual part files. Either way, you'll need 3 arms, 1 base, and the rings.
Works by lowering the liquid's center of mass relative to the pivot/carrying point, as well as taking advantage of centrifugal forces. This reduces the sloshing in the mug, because the mug and liquid move together as a whole, as they swing/rock in the carrier.
Only try FancyMugCarrier.stl if you really want a challenge, that version was my attempt to create something a bit more artistic looking, while ignoring any printing concerns. It looks nice, but I doubt how structurally strong the layer lines would be, printing that way. So personally I have not tested that version yet, print that one at your own risk.
