Volvo Electric Connector Seal (3523813)

The silicone seal in the electrical connectors of the type STD 7614.31 (Volvo part number 9144275) used in P80 series Volvos (V70I, S70) and probably other from the period as well deteriote over time. The silicone becomes brittle and makes a reliable and water proof connection impossible.

While the pig tails with a new silicone seal are still availabe (Volvo part number 3523813), they are rather expensive and require soldering or crimping. The seal itself is not available, so you can print your own from TPU 🥳

Versions

“Split” - To repair existing plugs, the split version allows you to put the seal over the bullet connector, since usually the wire is fed through the seal before the crimp is made. The seal can be closed with CA clue. Using activator spray is recommended to avoid gluing your fingers to the seal :D

“Closed” - For new connections using a new 3.5mm bullet connector, the closed version can be used.

Print Settings

• TPE is probably a better material choice than TPU, because it is not hygroscopic.
• TPU with a hardness of 85A works very well, the more standard 95A probably works as well, any harder probably will not work
• Three outer perimeters
• ≤0.2mm layer height
