Description

I was not able to find a good Raspberry Pi 5 case with pegs for a 1" standard pegboard. 

I started in TinkerCAD and you can take it further if you like using this link:

I added pegboard pegs to the Raspberry Pi slim case by jeraff24 using the excellent pegs from the Pegboard Caliper Holder model by herbert.

Printing

This is a tricky model to print due to a lack of obvious orientation for printing while also considering supports needed.

I elected to print the model on its side using organic/tree supports set to “everywhere” and then simply did some post processing.

The original design calls for the following parts required:

  • 4x m2.5x12mm screws
  • 4x m2.5 nuts

I found my stash of M2.5 bolts and nuts to be too small for the model, especially with the imprints for the nuts being too large to prevent rotation during assembly and tightening. It's probably a result of the cheap bolts I got from Amazon.

My solution was not super simple, but it did work. First, I drilled all the holes, including the Pi (you can do this safely, but be very careful!) to 3mm. I used my heat set insert tool to sink M3 nuts into the nut recesses in the lower case. Then I used the appropriate length bolts to prevent them from sticking out the lower case.  My Pi works perfectly… there is room around the mounting holes on the PCB drill them to 3mm without any trouble.
