Description
Having tried various commercial line winders I either found them with unnecessary moving parts, not firmly attached or they were just far too bulky and detracted from the use of the rod.
Prints in less than 5 minutes and uses about 30 cm of filament!
This is a very small quick print offers an adaptable and effective solution to carrying your rod either collapsed, rigged and ready or fully extended with just the end and tippet in the winder. I've used it with flat and weighted/furled lines.
A selection of O rings is advised to ensure a tight neat fit. I bought a multi pack. Something with an inner diameter of 10 mm and section of 2 mm is a good starting point. I'm using a 14' rod which will undoubtedly be thicker than a shorter rod.
Position the winder pieces on the butt section of your rod, the ‘broken’ ring hook retainer can be slid between these to take up any slack.
