Description
Full disclosure: I set out to make a more compact version of the HYQ14FBW Toyota key fob for my 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid, but by the time I modeled in the ability to hold the valet key ("Full Size"), it's not too far from the original size. Turns out that the Toyota engineers did a pretty good job of making the original more compact than I thought they did at first.
But there are still benefits with this model! I find it to feel more rugged (printed in PETG), and thus sounds less “clacky” against my other keys when hanging from my belt loop, which is how I carry my keys. I also believe it to be more moisture resistant since the buttons are integrated with the face, eliminating the gaps around them. One of the more important upgrades to me is that I have modeled in a tougher keyring loop, as I was uneasy with the fob hanging from the valet key, which is held in by a tiny wedge of plastic. Also, we can print in whatever color we would like! All that being said, it is a little bit smaller, in some axes.
If you feel like living dangerously and not carry the valet/emergency key, or are just ok with hanging the valet key separately on your keyring or have a purse to keep it in, you can opt for the “Mini” version, which actually IS significantly more compact than the original. Please note that the image of the mini that I have provided was a prototype version before I did a better job at modeling the buttons, so they are a little harder to identify in the picture.
This case uses the original circuitry (of course) and silicone membrane, as seen in the pictures. I was having a hard time identifying all models of Toyotas that this will fit, but here is what I found as a possibility, though there are potentially more that it will fit:
Camry 2025
Corolla 2023-2024
Crown 2023-2024
Grand Highlander 2024
Highlander 2024
Land Cruiser 2018-2022
Mirai 2017-2020
Prius 2023-2024
Sequoia 2023-2024
Venza 2021-2024
