Winter Lamp with Design by Anton Firsik

Bring the joy of snow and Winter into your home with this lamp featuring a beautiful landscape design by Anton Firsik. This lamp is easily printed and assembled with no glue required. The multipart design is allowing endless colour combinations, with any regular printer.

How to Print the Parts

I recommend PETG to print this lamp. I did not test it with any other materials, PLA may be too brittle for the clamps - and also may not be heat resistant enough.

Use the two prepared Prusa Slicer configuration files for the best results!

Start printing all the frame parts (use “LR2187B-2-4 Print.3mf”)

• 6x LR2187B-2
• 1x LR2187B-3
• 1x LR2187B-4

These are all one colour prints. For the result shown in the photo, use Prusament Galaxy Black for these parts.

After the frame parts, start printing the sides (use “LR2187B-11-16 Print.3mf”):

• LR2187B-11
• LR2187B-12
• LR2187B-13
• LR2187B-14
• LR2187B-15
• LR2187B-16

This is a print with filament changes. To get the result shown in the photo, use the following filaments in the shown order:

• Layer 1+2: Prusament PETG Clear (Transparent)
• Layer 3+4: Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue (Transparent)
• Layer 5+: Prusament Galaxy Black

If you use the prepared Prusa Slicer file (or the gcode file), the colour changes are already set. Using another slicer is easily possible, just add stops for the filament changes at the described layer heights.

Assembly

• Start with the lamp bottom (LR2187B-3) and place it in front of you on a flat surface.
• Slide the first side into the groove (LR2187B-11). There is a notch in the middle to help you centre the part.
  • If the side panel does not slide in the groove, use a fine sandpaper and remove material from the backside of the part until it has a tight fit.
  • If the side panel feels too loose in the groove, don't worry, after adding the clamps, the panel will usually hold fine in place.
• Continue with the second side (LR2187B-12) and place it on the right of the first one.
• Use one of the clamps (LR2187B-2) and carefully slide it over both hooks of the panels.
• Repeat this with all other side panels, until all of them are in place.
  • At this point, the side panels should hold on the bottom part and do not slide out. In the rare case, if they do, you may add a few drops of glue to the groove.
• For the last step, add the top frame (LR2187B-4) on top of all side panels.
• Start at one corner and slide all panels into the groove of the frame.
• In the end, you can use a flat piece of wood and a hammer to carefully press everything into its final position.
  • Also here, in the rare case, the fit is too loose, use a drop of glue to fasten all parts.

More Effects with different Top and Bottom Patterns

For an extra light effect, try different patterns for the top and bottom layers. I especially like the look of “Archimedean Chords” and “Octagram Spiral”.
