Description
This spacer fits over the plastic stand-offs that prevent you retrofitting a stock 40x20mm fan on the AD5M lower HEPA filter housing outlet. Without the spacer there is an approximately 4mm air gap between the fan body and lower filter housing outlet.
Use this spacer if you want to retrofit air filtration onto your FlashForge Adventurer 5M AD5M non-Pro. You'll also need M3 x 25mm screws to secure the fan to the stand-offs.
Be aware the AD5M is missing the fan connectors and electronic components to drive the fan. There is not power to the spare fan circuit pads on the motherboard. You can either power a 24V 40x20mm axial fan directly off the power supply (via a switch if desired), or use a two pin fan Y splitter off one of the used fan outputs (be careful not to overload the motherboard.)
You'll also need to block the other grilles/ filter housing for this to work.
(The top fan ducting is available to print here https://www.printables.com/model/910736-ventiliatsionnyi-kanal-dlia-adventurer-5m5m-pro/files . Once again, there is drive for a servo motor required to change the air flow direction and a 24V fan (5020 type) is required. None of those outputs are active on the AD5M.)
PS: OrcaSlicer handles Step files and has profiles for the AD5M.
PPS: This is my first attempt at 3D modelling; I've printed it out in PETG and it fits perfectly.
