Every year on New Year's Day, I make cookies for my local arthouse cinema. The cookies use props and characters from films the theater screened the previous year.

My theme this year was Iconic Wardrobes. One of the costume cookies I made was this Oppenheimer Suit. (I also made cookies from Poor Things, Stop Making Sense, and Taylor Swift's Eras Tour movie. Let me know if you want me to post any of those. See the pictures for more info.)

See also my Marcel the Shell and Everything Everywhere All at Once cookie cutters.

You're going to want to draw-in Oppenheimer's little button with “K-6,” just like in the movie. I spaced-out and forgot to add that detail. Use a cookie pen.

You can use any cookie recipe, but gingerbread tends to expand less than sugar cookies. I recommend cooling the unbaked cookies in the fridge for about 30 minutes before popping them in the oven.

Print all parts with 0.2mm layer height or smaller. No supports are needed.

How to use:

When cutting the cookies, I recommend oiling the cutters or sprinkling with flour to keep them from sticking to the cookies. It's especially tricky with the small bits. I use small tools to push on the small bits to keep the dough from breaking there.

First use the files marked with “Cutter” to cut the shapes. Then use the files marked with “Details” to mark the inner lines. Don't press the details all the way through. It will take a few practice cookies to get the detail lines at a desirable depth.

The hats won't need nearly as long in the oven as the suits. Be careful not to burn them.

Use the reference images to help cut the cookies and let me know if you have any questions.
