Floating Marker for Fishing Gear and Traps

This marker is designed for efficient marking of traps, nets, and other fishing equipment, ensuring your gear is compliant and easily identifiable on the water. It uses a 20mm plastic pipe (e.g., electrical conduit) as a mast and includes printed attachments for a flag, a buoy assembly using PET plastic bottles, and a weighted base for stability.

The model is easily printable without supports, with built-in support for the weight base's top surface.

Required Materials:

• 20mm plastic pipe (e.g., electrical conduit)
• Flag
• Zip ties
• 3 PET plastic bottles with caps
• Sand or gravel for the base
• 4 screws for attachment

Assembly Instructions:

1. Cut the pipe to the desired length (check local regulations for mast height).
2. Remove PET bottle caps AND the tamper-evident ring.
3. Push the bottle necks through the plate holes (upside down) so that the plate sits where the tamper-evident ring used to be, then secure with caps.
4. Slide the plate part halfway up the pipe and fix with a screw.
5. Fill the weight base with sand, slide it onto the lower end of the pipe, and secure with a screw.
6. Attach flag parts to the top of the pipe, secure the flag with zip ties, and fix attachments with screws.
7. Use the buoy plate’s 10mm holes to attach your rope or cable.
8. Use zip tie channels on attachments for other accessories or permit cards.
