Description

Have you ever had a problem with finding good solution for supporting plants? Maybe you dont have large build volume to print large support? Maybe you want to print something, that fits into your planter?

Try using this model.
I designed plant support that you can build by yourself. In “files” you can find parts for different configurations. You can easily choose which one do you need.

BILL OF MATERIALS

To assemble base of one plant support, you need:
- 3x Spike.stl
- 3x Connector.stl
- 3x Horizontal_Rod.stl
For each “level” you need:
- 3x Connector.stl
- 3x Horizontal_Rod.stl
- 3x Vertical_Rod.stl

For example - if you want to build 3-layer support (like on cover photo), you need:
- 3x Spike.stl
- 9x Connector.stl
- 9x Horizontal_Rod.stl
- 3x Vertical_Rod.stl

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS

Each part is designed to be easy printable, but still your printer need to be well-calibrated. Because parts was designed to be screwed-in and press-fitted, I recomend to print test pieces to check fitment. If you have troubles with fitment, adjust XY correction in your slicer settings.

All models are saved with recomended orientation for FDM printing (Z-Axis facing up)

I recomend using ABS, ASA or PET-G filament for this project. PLA works too, but keep in mind that this support might be exposed to direct sunlight, which can domage your print due to thermal and/or UV resistance.

WHY I DESIGNED IT?

I have few planters with tomatoes, and I needed something more than just a bamboo stick placed in the soil. The problem is - my tomatoes are too big to mount any regular plant support, so I made one by myself. This model can be build around existing plant without risk of domaging it.
