Push Opener (Remix)

July 16, 2024
Description
I saw and printed sabesnait's Push Opener immediately. Impressive functionality and design!
Thanks for sharing!
However, this bottle opener didn't work reliably: the cap came loose when opening 2 out of 3 bottles, and the rubber ring easily detached from its holders. So, I revised all parts. A few more grams of filament made the opener much sturdier. Adding threads to the lid keeps it secure. I redesigned the rubber ring holders for better retention.
Here's what you need for that:
- 2 x M3 x 20mm screw
- 1 x M3 x 30mm screw
- 1 x rubber ring (approx. 25-30mm in diameter)
Tip: If you have already printed the parts of the original and don't have any issues with the rubber ring, only with the lid coming loose, then you don't need to print the internal parts from my remix. The original internals fit into my opener.
Printing information
The STL files are correctly aligned.
Layer height: 0.2mm
Perimeter: 3 with 0.6mm nozzle; 4 with 0.4mm nozzle
Infill: 20% (Gyroid)
Support: none, except for pushOpener_inner (see picture below)
I recommend organic support just for the internal surfaces.
If you like the colored layout that you see in the photo, you can achieve it with the following color changes when printing pushOpener_outer:
- start with orange
- at layer #31 (6.20mm) - gray
- at layer #273 (54,60mm) - orange
- at layer #304 (60,80mm) - gray
Then print pushOpener_top: orange
Assembly Instructions
After you have printed all parts, assemble them following these steps:
I am looking forward to your Makes! :-)
