Description

Call them however you want – these mini fenders have a low-profile base, so your foot placement is not hindered with this add-on-top fender. Check out my Onewheel Collection – I have also designed charging port plugs for the Pint, mini fenders for the XR and other Onehweel related stuff.

Variants

Designing a thin but durable mini fender turned out to be a bit of a challenge – if you ride hard, that is. After trying different designs and materials, I ended up adding ribs to my fender design and printed it with PETG. I'm riding with this version over a year now. If you don't like the design with the ribs, I added another version without the ribs, but with a thicker upper part (I didn't test the durability of this version though).

Mounting

The only drawback of this low-profile design is that you need a special screw length for the fender at the back. For the fender at the front, you can use M4 x 16 mm countersunk screws. For the fender at the back, you need M4 x 13.5 mm countersunk screws (use two other M4 x 16 mm screws and cut them to that length). Don't use M4 x 12 mm! Otherwise you might strip the thread on your rails (not necessarily when mounting, but when you hit the fender with your foot – don't ask me how I know).

Printing Info

I recommend using PETG or a material with an even better layer adhesion and impact resistance. If you want to print the fender with a flexible TPU, you should print a few bottom layers with PETG or PCTG and then continue the print with TPU. If you print this model entirely out of flexible TPU, you will end up with a fender that bends too much laterally (because of the low-profile and thin design).

Happy printing and onewheeling!
