Description
This is a cavern designed to fit aquatic invertebrates (shrimp, crayfish, etc) but can easy house fish-fry to keep them safe from larger predators long enough to allow them to grow big enough to defend themselves.
The small beam in the center of the viewing windows can be easy removed if needed. Just clip it and you're good to go. It is structurally sound with or without the beam, but make sure your model is under the substrate as it is an underground cavern and will float if not mostly buried.
The 2 nooks in the back are there to aid creatures when they want to be left alone, or to nest.
Measurements (inches):
whole model 7.6" long x 2.1" wide x 1.2" tall
entrance holes 0.75" x 0.60"
viewing window without option beam 6.1"
Note:
If you are printing for your pets, please make sure it is food-safe filament such as PETG or ABS as they are more durable and leech way less than other filaments. PETG (depending on the maker) is primarily made with corn so as long as your filament is FDA approved or labeled “food-safe” then you shouldn't need to worry.
This model was test-printed in ASA, but will not be used for my pets.
I will be printing a useable copy in food-safe PETG.
I would recommend printing this model vertically as it will reduce the print time and will require way-less supports, allowing them to be removed easier.
(Vertical Print with viewing windows facing upwards. Supports Needed!)
