Description

A flower that’s based on the flag of Nova Scotia.

Printing Instructions

Material

I plan on displaying this outside so I used PETG, but you can use what ever material you think is appropriate.

Base

Print the base in yellow. I printed with a 5mm brim to avoid warping.

Pedals

Print 12 pedals in total, 8 white pedals and 4 blue pedals. I printed the pedals two at a time with a 5mm brim.

Top

This is a multi-material print involving two STLs in two colours. I printed Top.stl in yellow and Design.stl in red. I used a 5mm brim to avoid warping.

I don’t have a MMU unit myself. I used the instructions provided by JoanTabb to do a manual filament change at the appropriate time. Only one filament change is required.

Assembly Instructions

Since I intend to display this outside I used two part epoxy to glue it all together. This is my first time attempting this, I don’t know for sure how well it will work. You can use what ever you think is appropriate.

Pictures from each step of the process are included.

Step 1: Glue a saw tooth hanger to the cutout in the base.

Step 2: Glue 6 white pedals for the bottom layer. Make sure you start at the appropriate location, otherwise the blue pedals will not be in the correct location for the top layer.

Step 3: Glue 4 blue and 2 white pedals for the top layer. Make sure to get the pedals in the correct location.

Step 4: Glue on the top piece. At this point I used a stack of books to press the whole object together while the glue sets.
