Modular (Customizable) Inserts for the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3 (fits A1 MINI / Prusa Mini size printers)

This is a customizable insert for the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3 (fits A1 MINI / Prusa Mini size printers).  

These models are blank, and REQUIRE customization.  

This is being posted so that folks can customize the insert modules for the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3 , to suit their needs (and hopefully share the custom insert modules).  To see an example of how these could be used, you can check out my Bambu A1 and A1 Mini Spares and Tool Case ver1.3, which uses a base module, customized to hold parts for a Bambu A1/A1 Mini.  The STEP and STL models are provided to make remixing easier.  Note that only these insert modules have a remixable license, so please do not include the other files from the case designs in a remix (those are under the standard digital license).  If you remix this, please drop a comment over on the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3 case as well, so I can check out your creation!

(IMPORTANT) These models require the following parts from the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3:

• BFS_MINI_v9A_MODULAR_BASE.stl 

• BFS_MINI_v9A_MODULAR_LID-w-GASKET.stl (lid with the TPU gasket option)

• BFS_MINI_v9A_MODULAR_LID-NO-GASKET.stl (lid without the TPU gasket option)

Additionally, the other latch and handle parts from the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3 are needed to complete a case using these modular inserts.

These inserts install using M3 screws.  Since the design is blank and therefore customizable, the length of the screws is not set, but by default they can be (4) M3x10 or M3x12mm SHCS screws.  

DESIGN NOTES:

These modules have a 0.3mm clearance around the sides and bottom.  They sit 0.05mm under the top edge of the cases, so when the case is closed there is only 0.1-0.7mm spacing between the insert modules (depending on how tight the print holds to the design dimensions).  Depending on what the inserts will be used for, it may make sense to shorten their Z height by 1mm or possibly more.  It may be worth printing the modular lid and base of the cases from the MINI Box For Stuff v1.3 first, then testing your customized insert modules in those, to determine if they need to be made shorter than the models provided here.  Just a tip - I usually chop up my prototypes during the design process, to print just the section needing to be tested, which saves on material.

If you plan to use a base insert modules with a lid that has compartments (similar to the A1 Mini Spare case), you should shorten the base insert to no more than 32.53mm tall (lower the height of the base insert module by at least 0.5mm (1mm would be better), to allow clearance for the latches).

The dimensions of the inserts are:

Base: 163.5x142.5mm (and 33.030mm tall)

Top: 158.66x137.66mm (and 30.080mm tall)

When remixing, please only include the remixed insert modules which are posted here (and any related parts you design).  Please do not include any of the case shell models from the MINI Box For Stuff.  The designs for the case, which these inserts work with, is posted under the Standard Digital License (which does not allow remixing).  However the insert modules for the case (the models included here), are shared under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, which does allow for remixing.
