Description
Philips Hue Calla supplemental base.  The Philips Hue Calla has a flimsy base, especially considering the price tag associated.  I've had two break over the years where the mounting spike on the bottom snaps almost the entire bottom out of the casing for the light.  This make them hard to fix because the plastic is so thin.  This is intended to supplement an intact or even a broken replacement base as long as the area impacted is the bottom of the Calla light.  There is routing for the power in multiple locations and the thing I added is holes that go up into the housing where you can use ½" or 3/8" rebar to better anchor your light.  The holes hide the rebar as well and protect anyone from injury.  This should serve far better to protect your lights from future damage at the base level.
Also included are two templates. Â One is intended to in the right soil, mark the dirt where you will want to dig out a little and level as well as where to place your rebar posts to slide the housing over. Â The others are painting templates where you can put them right on the ground, throw a little paint over the template and now it's marked without having to dig as much. Â One has a handle / ring to help you keep from getting paint on your hands.
The rebar anchor holes have 3 for each size. Â You could of course do 3 of each for 6 pieces of rebar, but that would seem to be overkill for most use case scenarios.
I hope this helps some folks out there because I'm tired of having to replace these at about $130 USD a pop when a kid hits it accidentally with their bike.
