Description
Got a nifty cargo net for my truck last fall, but over the winter several hooks broke(they apparently disagree with -40 degrees, and lots of ice). I could get a new net, but this one was free, and why waste something I can fix?
Simple hooks would be easy, but I Love the hook style on this thing, they slide to anywhere on 2' of the 6 main “legs” of the net, and lock in place instantly; adjusts net size, and load tension.
So I modeled basically exact copies of the originals. The original hooks are marked Zip Hook(and a patent #), thus the title here.
The trick for these is a side window with a tapered slot, that the bungee goes through, and then locks into. feed the cord up to the large end and it can be adjusted, pull to the narrow end, and it wedges and locks, holding tension. YOu wouldn't need the net really, could be put on any bungee that passes through and that the slot will grip good. (I hate to need to say this, but; Use at your own risk, I assume no responsibility for safety nor for damage of you or your equipment, or anything or anyone else effected by use of this design)
As per picture and 3mf file, I printed in PLA, 5 top layers, 5 bottom @ 0.25mm height, 0.8mm line width and walls, 2 walls for main body, and using a cutting mesh in Cura, 5 walls on the hook itself. infill; 15% gyroid in body, 20% cubic in the hook.
