Multiboard Pegboard Inverted Shelf Brackets

Background

I needed large shelves that are not going to flex but can be mounted to the multiboard system.

Not only that, I'm storing video games - and to top it off - I'm in a tight spot so I need to keep the space below the shelf as clear as possible.

It didn't take too long to find out that a printed shelf top wasn't going to be suitable and that nothing would meet my criteria…

So…. here we are!

The Shelves

These are my second version. They have a double click to prevent slippage and a thick primary edge to prevent excess flexing of your multiboard. They are designed to take a wooden shelf top up to 15mm thick or up to 20mm thick (¾ inch lumbar) with a shelf depth of 150mm.

I've used 14mm counter sunk wood screws to secure the shelf to the brackets.

Wood Width Calculation

Once you know how many peg holes you are looking to span - you want to multiply that by 25, then subtract 19mm.

E.g. You have 18 peg holes between you brackets - that's 20 holes - so: (25 x 20) - 19 = 481mm

Print Settings

3 Walls!

0.2mm layer height

25% infill - gyroid

No supports!

For smaller shelves PLA is fine. Mine are printed in white PC. Generally I'd recommend PC, ASA or PETG.

Don't overtighten your screws - they are just there to enforce alignment and will of course crack due to their print orientation if you go nuts. Less of a risk with PC, ASA or PETG but with PLA just play it safe.
