Description
I made this for dispensing 8mm passives and small SMD components. It works very well with plastic tape, but not so well with paper tape, as the paper isn't flexible enough to coil so small. I needed something that eliminated clutter and allowed me to put a bar code sticker on each component for recordkeeping purposes.
The back clip should be made of semi-flex, as its supposed to bend back to allow removal of the holder. That said, its actually easiest to load them from the front and let it coil by itself, so you may never need to remove them from your SMD assembly bench, so you could print it out of rigid material to be more secure.
To keep track of how much you have left, I advise laying the cut tape out on your bench and next to a yard/meter stick and making indications every so often (say in percentage left). That at least gives you an idea what you are getting low on (you can un-wind the spool to check if needed).
The retainer rail has a "sacrificial layer" so no support is needed for the screw head recess. Simply cut/drill out the hole with a 2.5mm bit to insert your screw (or just screw through it, its only .2mm thick).
The spool comes in 2 sections. A small dab of super glue will keep the pieces together easily. The spool cap is NOT meant to go against the tension spring on the holder, the main spool knob is.
There are 2 different styles of spool cap. Choose whichever one you prefer.

Notes:
No supports are needed on any models if they are orientated for printing in the obvious way. Minor bridging needed, but should be easily handled by any printer.
