Description
I was looking for a simple case for my clip-on sunglasses but only found cases for full-size sunglasses. So I decided to design my own version. This design uses a living hinge so it can be printed in one go. It uses 2 6x3mm (in real life 6x2.65mm) magnets. I've added an inlay which I printed in TPU for some added protection. Next to that, there's a design of some sunglasses which I added to the top of the case in my slicer in a different colour.
The inner size of the closed case is 130 x 55 x 15 mm without inlay. The inlay reduces the size by 1.2 mm all around.
I printed it on my Bambu Lab P1S using PETG filament for the case and TPU for the inlay. Because of the curves on the sides, one might want to add supports. Instead, I chose to reduce the layer height on the bottom 1.5 to 2 mm, but that didn't turn out great. Good enough to not bother with printing it again, but I've seen nicer prints….
