Description

I designed this fan shroud after i was disappointed with the cooling performance of dual 4010 fans. 

This is, naturally, complete overklill and you will most likely have layer adhesion problems if you run the fans at 100% speed. however at 50% speed the fans are both silent as well as very effective at cooling your parts when printing fast via klipper.

The shroud can be printed without supports and mounts on top of the stock ender 3 heatsink with the stock screws. no further tools required as everything else just slots into place.

there is one thing to keep in mind though: since different models of ender 3 use differently sized fans for the hot end cooling you will most likely need to print a small spacer after measuring how much left over space you have since the model is sized for a 4020 fan while most ender 3 fans are either 4010 or 4012. this however also gives it great compatibility.

There is also an optional extra file for a BL Touch mount since the shroud is too wide to work with the stock bracket. this bracket should be compatible with all ender 3 models that are older than the Ender 3 S1. it moves the BL Touch to an offset of roughly -45 (x) -7 (y).

 

Edit for v3: redesigned the fan ducts. also included a 4010 fan spacer if you don't want to upgrade to a 4020 fan and a 2nd variant of the top cover with extra clearance which is often needed with 3d printed direct drive mounts.
