Dyson Vacuum V-Series Attachment Holder/Wall mount

Description

Model

This is a wall mount for Dyson V-Series vacuum attachments. It was tested with all V15 attachments and should fit previous series as well (but this was not tested). Securely mount this to a wall using just one screw. For drywall installations, the use of a wall plug is advised.

Slots in the back give the option to use additional glue to reduce the torque on the screw when there is an off-center force. But this is not required as the mount is symmetrical and any force from inserting/extracting should act collinear to the centerline of the screw.

Compared to the original, this remix provides more strength to the screw connection to the part, allowing it to withstand more force from tightening the screw to the wall.

There is also an additional cylindric part to cover the screw once the part is secured in place. To make it removable, the part should fit only very loosely into the screw countersink hole. It can be removed later with a pointy object by hooking it out. This is of course optional and only really visible with the vacuum attachment removed.

Printing

Print the model standing upside down on its top

  • 4-5 perimeters are advised as this is a structural part with some force acting on it
  • 15-20% cubic infill
  • no support needed, but adding a bit of organic support on the upper part of the fron facing hole may improve looks on some printers (like my Ender V2)
  • Printing external perimters first gave a cleaner, more uniform look during my test prints
  • The new “Single perimeter on top/bottom surface” setting from Prusa Slicer 2.8 improves looks as well, especially with higher perimeter numbers as advised

I provided a Prusa Slicer project with custom supports on the upper part of the front hole as described as well as a custom infill at the height of the screw hole to increase the strength of the part even more in this area.
