Description
Easily printable without support and attaches to a European style tow bar with a ball of 50mm. Color can be printed by manually changing filament while pausing print at specific height or in a Tool Changer, MMU or other multi material helper.
I recommend using the threaded antitheft version. This will stay in place however bumpy you drive, even a folkrace. It will shatter before falling off, so no carwash…
After slicing the first time, drag the layer ruler to the height you want to start the new color at. Right click on the Plus sign, chose “Add color change (M600)” and then what color for the preview.
Select different Extruder for the different objects. You can add a Wipe option to “Wipe into this object's infill”.
You can rotate the object so the backside is turned towards the tool parking spot. This way any accidental ooze will be on the backside where not visible.
You can use 0.2mm layer height or lower.
I recommend using at least 5 top layers so the top of the ball won't have holes on top.
I have printed this using 5% Gyroid infill everywhere, 3 perimeters, 3 bottom and only 4 top layers.
When printing on a ToolChanger I haven't used any purge towers, shields or anything else.
I Printed this in add:north E-PLA Cold White and eSun eTwinkling Red.
Make the hat stay safer on the car by printing the thread version, the two thread lock parts and at least one key to turn it in. If you print two keys it is easier to align when threading in.
The Threadlock should be printed at the same layer height as the object.
I included a version without thread and one solid without hole as well as the CAD in form of Fusion 360 and STEP files.
The Thread for the tow bar can be found here.
