Description
I wanted a tidy way to conveniently keep my cables at arm's reach. With this grommet, you can just pull out the cable when needed. If cables are arranged similarly to mine (shown in the picture), they can easily be pushed back in too. This grommet is designed specifically for the Ikea Micke Desk series.
I have included sacrificial bridging, which printed well on my printer. However, be aware that this may be challenging to print; the model should be printed on the top face.
Use M3x5: (Adjust the file if you need longer, I used M3x6 but it shows underneath.)
The provided .f3d file allows you to customize it to your needs. For example, you may need to adjust:
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| cableDiameter1 | Exact diameter of the top cable holder (with 0.2mm tolerance added) |
| cableDiameter2 | Exact diameter of the bottom cable holder (with 0.2mm tolerance added) |
| Connector Hole Diameter (Will need changing in the sketch, not a parameter) | Diameter of the hole for your cable connector in the grommet section, especially for bulky cables. |
I advise checking these parameters before printing to ensure they suit your setup.
