Description

This project consists of two brackets and an adapter.  It uses the StarLink Pipe Adapter and this telescopic extension pole that I got from Amazon.

The brackets are designed to fit around a ladder with 1" vertical tubes. It's a very tight fit; you'll need a fair amount of force to get the clips snapped around the ladder uprights and you'll want a small hammer to lightly tap the clips into the slots on the brackets. This tight fit also means that they hold in place very well. The clip goes near the top of the ladder and the cup goes towards the bottom. Some M3x12 screws are used to fasten the clips to the brackets.

The pole adapter screws onto the end of the extension pole, and it held into the pipe adapter with the two screws provided with the pipe adapter.

To attach the StarLink panel to the ladder:
  • Slide the cable through the pipe adapter and plug it into the dishy panel.
  • Snap the pipe adapter into the dishy panel.
  • Screw the extension pole into the pole adapter (which should already be attached to the pipe adapter).
  • Extend the extension pole.
  • Hold the extension pole vertical with a small tilt to the left.
  • Align the second from the end telescopic section with the slot in the upper bracket.
  • Angle the pole back to vertical it will grab the “fingers” on the upper bracket.
  • Slide the bottom of the pole into the lower cup.
  • The pole will be held securely against the ladder.

Reverse these steps to remove.

Printing

I used PETG with a 0.6mm nozzle and printed with the following adjustments to the standard settings:

  • Perimeters: 4
  • Infill: 15% 3D Honeycomb
  • Bridging Angle: Adjusted to align the bridging over the screw holes.
