Description

People have been using rags for cleaning probably ever since clothes existed. With this reusable print you can now turn worn-out textiles into a mop head instead. You'll never have to buy a new replacement head again.

This model has been designed for conical threads (6.5° angle, 2.25 mm pitch) that should fit various brands. If you need another connector feel free to drop a comment.

Printing Instructions

Use 4 perimeters/walls and 10% infill. Print the parts in their default orientation, no supports necessary. If you have issues with bed adhesion, use a brim.

Materials

If you are going for a flat strip mop, use woven fabrics.

If you prefer string mops, use jersey knit fabrics like t-shirts. Make sure to cut those in the right orientation so that they curl up correctly.

Assembly

Cut (or rip) your fabric of choice into strips approximately 50 cm long and 2,5 cm wide (or 20 × 1 in). Make a small cut in the middle of the strip so you can put it onto the inner part.

Repeat and stack strips at an angle to the last one until you reach the threaded part of the shaft.

Screw the inner part with the strips onto the outer part.

Notes on Usage

If you are using natural materials like cotton, try not to leave the mop wet for too long and make sure to dry it out completely between uses to avoid mold.
