Description
I have invented a pair of adapters to be added to the sides of a NEXUS Rollator/Walker to permit the attachment of anything built with the “dovetail style” mounting. I have included a Cup Holder, a Shopping Bag Hook, a Carabiner Loop, and a Mount for the gimble portion of a Quad Lock iPhone Case Mount. You need the gimbal mount and knob from Quad Lock (check the pictures.) I used the black magnetic ring from the Quad Lock case, which I replaced with a blue one. The mag ring is a press-fit into the Quadlock Magnetic Mount adapter. Make sure you get the polarity right. The gimbal mount also has a press-fit into the hole in the centre of the phone adapter. If you are not using Quad Lock, you must invent your own phone mount. With all that hooked on, you are ready for anything!
You will need to use supports to print everything except the cup holder. I have printed this with conventional and tree supports. You will need to figure out whatever is best for you. These parts were drawn in OnShape. I will include a STEP file if you want to fiddle with them. I printed mine in PET-CF, 25% Gyroid Infill, 4 Wall Loops, No Brim, and 0.2mm layers. Printing vertically with the slide attachment off the bed is best, as the fit is very close and won’t tolerate much distortion.
You will need four M6 x 60mm 1.0 Thread Pitch Socket Head bolts. Shoulder bolts would be best, but I could not find them in the proper size. The nuts can be reused. Put a bit of Blue Threadlock on the bolts, but make sure it is dry before you mount the brackets, as thread lock can dissolve some plastics. Don’t be frustrated assembling this; you need to carefully trim where the supports attach, as everything in this model is built to close tolerances (as it should be.) :-)
