Description

In the Fiat Ducato panel van of the Chaussoon and Challenger series (motorhomes) there is a bathroom cabinet whose door opens upwards.

The unpleasant thing about this is that after a journey on German roads, for example, the contents of the cabinet are no longer where they were before the journey began.
This means that when the door is opened, the contents can sometimes fall down like an avalanche.

If the toilet lid is not closed underneath, it can get really disgusting.
These easy-to-print parts put an end to this and keep the contents of the cupboard in place as far as possible.

You only need the following additional hardware:

  • Small screws (approx. 3x16)
  • Double-sided adhesive tape
  • Wooden board sawn to the right size and thickness (I recommend poplar plywood from the DIY store in 8mm thickness) → Link Hornbach
  • Optional: Adhesive foil in a matching look
  • Rubber cord 3mm thick → Link Amazon

I fixed all the brackets with double-sided adhesive tape AND screws. This means that nothing can come loose, even on bumpy rides and at different temperatures.

Attaching the elastic cord requires at least two lower parts and two upper parts for each side. I have chosen the length so that I have shortened the distance between them by approx. 30%.

So, for example, if the measurement is 30 cm, I made a loop that is only 20 cm long (the elastic cord is therefore approx. 40 cm long and is then knotted into a loop). The knot of the loop goes into one of the lower parts and disappears under the lid.

Depending on the printer and the fine tuning, the lower parts and lid may be very tight fit. It is best to print and test a sample first. Then adjust if necessary and only then finally print all parts.

Have fun with it and see you on the pitch!
