Description
As they don't seem to make even airsoft versions of these anymore so I designed my own. I don't have one so I was just modelling it using of off-axis photos from google so its not going to be exactly the same as the original, and now discontinued, KAC 99049.
Designed to fit on the VFC KAC MP5 rail, but as long as the distance between rails is 55mm (+/- 0.1mm ish) it should fit. Some slight fitment may be required depending on the printer. (If you check yours and its different let me know and I can make an updated file.)
I have had mine sent off to CraftCloud to be printed in aluminium for £45 (still cheaper than the G&P when they still made that).
It's also important the rail is actually level so if you have a WE Apache I would recommend printing my other model; VFC MP5 KAC RAS Adaptor for WE Apache. If you have another model of MP5 your mileage may vary.
What to print
The V4:
This is the one in the photos, it does get pretty close to the receiver but seems to fit.
The V5:
Slightly newer design, about a mm more clearance around the receiver.
If you do decide to get either printed in metal I would recommend printing them in plastic first to check clearances on your rail first.
Printing
To print on a standard printer I would recommend placing it on the bed like this:
I would also suggest using 4-6 walls, other than that it shouldn't really matter. Post-printing you will need to remove a bit of support and may need to take a 5mm drill bit to the screw holes if they're a bit tight but that's it.
Attachment
To attach it to the rail you just need 2x M5x10mm button head screws and optionally 2x M5x10x1mm washers. If the screws are any longer then 10mm and they will go past the rail and scratch the paint on the MP5 and any shorter and you are risking striping the threads on the handguard.
