Star Trek TR-560 Tricorder Kit

Happy to present my version of the TR 560 Mk VI Tricorder as seen on the first season of Star Trek TNG. This early style featured a small hand scanner that tucked away at the top, includes a medical tricorder module with its own stow-away scanner. The medical module and hand scanners use 6x2mm magnets to attach to the unit. Also added option to use 6x3mm magnets which should be stronger--those parts are in a zip file.

Update January 1 2026 - Finally updated the graphics for higher quality and scaled to fit when printed at at original size. 

The original TR 560 prop also had a little spring-loaded brass rod that would secure the lid when closed. My model does that with a printable rod and spring, but if you don’t like the look of the rod sticking out there’s a version without it that uses 6x2mm magnets to hold the lid closed.

The hinge was printed at .15mm layer height and a .4mm nozzle and it works great, just need to be careful removing supports. Use a safety pin to clear the holes if the pin won’t push through all the way.

All parts have been set to the orientation I printed them in and supports are needed for medical module, body, door, hinges, and medical scanner top.

Includes belt holster, adjustable display stand, and graphics (zip file).

Might add a hollowed version for electronics someday. 

Use color change/swapping for the Sensor Knobs, Sensor Box, Scanner Tip, and display stand tags.
