Description
Flywing makes amazing RC model helicopters that utilize GPS and other forms of stabilization. In my case I purchased a FW450L V3. A battery tray is an inexpensive part, but it is necessary to hold a battery pack inside the model. One tray comes with the model, but I wanted to have two more packs ready to go when I fly without dismounting and mounting the packs to the same battery tray. So I designed a battery tray for 3D printing. I also made the tray bottom 1mm thicker so that the pack would clear the main gear and one-way bearing. There is a slot for two-sided velro to hold the battery pack in place.
I sliced in PS 2.7.4 and printed the tray with Prusament PETG (always very slowly) with supports on build plate only and 0.2mm layer height, 40% gyroid infill. Used stock Prusament settings on a MK3S+ with Revo 6. Supports break free cleanly.
