Description

A simple bracket in three different sizes allows you to let the tailgate slightly open for fresh air while you sleep in the car. Moreover, the vehicle can be locked when the bracket is installed.

Features

  • Lock your car while keeping the trunk door slightly open for better air ventilation. Great for sleeping in the car.*
  • Symmetric and universal – should fit most car brands.**
  • Three sizes – S, M, L

*Safety and security note – Use only when the car is fully stopped. Keep in mind that the bracket is made of plastic and can be broken, so don't leave the car unattended while the bracket is installed.

**Tested on Volkswagen Touran, Ford C-Max, and Dacia Duster. However, it works only with manually operated trunk doors.

Printing

  • layer height: 0.3 mm (fast or draft setting works great)
  • supports: one support under the tail of the bracket, optional for sizes S and M, required for L
  • material: PETG
  • infill: at least 50 % for better durability

Usage

  1. Install the bracket as shown in the picture below.
  2. Slowly and carefully close the trunk door until you hear a click. If the latch does not engage, the bracket is probably in a bad position, so try to move the bracket a little bit.
  3. Test that the latch is engaged. Now you can lock your car.
