***IMPORTANT: NEVER POINT A TELESCOPE AT THE SUN WITHOUT A PROPER FILTER, you only get one pair of eyes, make sure to mount a proper solar film like that from Thousand Oaks between these plates and TEST IT SAFELY FIRST EACH TIME before risking your eyes. Even though this scope should fit snugly, please also tape it on to be safe just in case***

This mount fits snug onto the Celestron 114AZ/114EQ and holds a solar film in front of the scope, allowing you to more safely point it at the sun to observe or photograph it. I designed and used it in April 2024 to capture photographs of the solar eclipse. In these captures I also was able to clearly make out sunspots. Also included in these files is a case to try and help protect your filter and importantly the film itself. I used 6" film and cut it to size. Never touch the film. Please follow all safety precautions I layed out as pointing a telescope at the sun comes with risks.

Uses six M3 nuts and bolts. The tolerances were made so 1/8 inch imperial ones should also work.
