Wanting to use Taurus TX22 full size 16 round mags in your TX22 Compact? They fit, but leave a gap between the top of the floor plate and the bottom of the magazine well. Does that bother you? Me too, so I wasted a lot of time coming up with a solution. You will need 1 M3x6mm screw for each magazine. (You could always use a dab of superglue instead if you are feeling really committed to the swap)
- Use a punch to depress the button on the floor plate of your 16 round mag and slide the plate off (WARNING! Keep your thumb over the bottom of the magazine as you slide the plate off; if the spring shoots out, you might not be able to find it. Ask me how I know).
- Save the button in case you want to switch back to the old plate, but you won't need it for now.
- Slide the cap over the bottom of the magazine as you move your thumb out of the way. If you can't figure out which way to insert it, note the circular indentation on the inside of the cap; this goes over the spring.
- Slide the base over the cap and lock the tab in place
- Secure the base to the cap with a M3x6mm screw. Don't over tighten it, just get it snug.
