Description
Portable Wireless Video Transmitter and Camera Pod
Here is a fun little weekend project for those who like to tinker.
This can be used for testing analog video receivers on the bench
adding one of these to your remote controlled RC cars or RC lawn mower
or wherever else you need wireless video on the move.
VTX has very efficient cooling and can run indefinite amount of time without overheating.
I would not print this out of PLA because of its low melting point.
although, it would be an issue only if the fan stopped working.
Print out of high temperature materials like ABS, ASA or PETG.
Under the VTX I added a cotton pad with copton tape strip these were used to cover
the heat block on 3d printers before silicone socks were invented.
This would provide an extra layer of thermal insulation between VTX and plastic case.
I had this rig running all night, (fogot to unplug it from 12v battery) with a smaller fan and less
exhaust holes in the case and no issues at all. This is a 2nd version, with improved air circulation.
Parts needed to complete the project:
VTX I used is 20x25mm in my case AOMWAY 200mw, you don't need anything crazy, because the
higher the power output the more heat it will generate. I would not set it for more than 200mw
Camera, original CCD 17x17 with ears on the sides. (see picture)
5V 40MM fan, if connected to 5V VTX output, or you can connect 12V fan to the power input directly.
XT60 plug,
Illuminated rocker switch 12.6 by 18.5mm mounting size, from amazon.

antenna coax wire w/connector and antenna.
will also need some M3 bolts and square nuts (on the bottom of the enclosure) to bolt it together
both fan and enclosure.
All M3 holes in this model are through holes, with 0.2mm film on the bottom for clean print.
can be punched through with a bolt easily.
Added Fusion360 F3D file for those who want to customize this design to fit their scrap box FPV
equipment.
Enjoy printing.
