Kindle Paperwhite 5 (11th Gen) TPU Case QI Charging

Für mein Kindle Paperwhite der 11.Generation habe ich erneut ein Case entworfen, das das Kindle nicht nur schützt, sondern dieses auch günstig, schnell und einfach mit einer kabellosen Ladefunktion ausstattet. Im Vergleich zu meinem ersten design, das auf dem eines anderen Designers aufbaut, habe ich dieses hier komplett neu entworfen, um das Case möglichst passgenau zu machen. Es ist weniger eckig, sondern ist der Form des Kindles selbst nachempfunden und zudem insgesamt etwas schlanker.

Ich habe außerdem kürzlich ein Dock entworfen, das auch mit diesem Case genutzt werden kann. Das Ladepad im Dock ist perfekt für dieses Case platziert:

Um das Laden zu vereinfachen und schnell die richtige Position auf dem Ladegerät zu finden, habe ich auf der Rückseite ein kleines Symbol eingestanzt, das genau über der Mitte des Lade-Empfängers platziert wurde.

Druckanweisungen:

• Druckt das Case auf dem Rücken liegend mit Supports zur Druckplatte (es reichen schon wenige Supports an den Ausschnitten der Anschlüsse)
• Druckt das Case unbedingt in TPU oder einem ähnlich flexiblen Material, ansonsten bekommt ihr das Kindle nicht hinein!

“Montage”:

• Steckt den QI-Empfänger am Kindle an und klappt ihn an den Rücken des Kindle
• Steckt zuerst die Unterseite des Kindles ins Case und helft ein bisschen nach, damit der QI-Empfänger richtig in der Aussparung sitzt
• Drückt anschließend die Oberseite des Kindles ins Case

For my Kindle Paperwhite 11th Generation I have again designed a case, that not only protects the Kindle but also equips it with a wireless charging function in an affordable, quick, and easy way. Compared to the design I uploaded a while ago, for which I used the model of another designer as starting point, this one is completely made from scratch, to ensure a perfect fit. It is less angular, instead has a more kindle like appearence and is overall less bulky.

A while ago, I designed a charging dock, that can also be used with this case. It fits perfectly, as the charging pad is placed exactly where the receiver sits in this case:

To simplify charging and quickly find the right position on the charger, I have engraved a small symbol on the back, placed exactly over the center of the charging receiver.

Printing instructions:

• Print the case lying on its back with supports to the print bed (just a few supports at the cutouts for the ports are enough).
• Be sure to print the case in TPU or a similarly flexible material; otherwise, you won’t be able to fit the Kindle inside!

“Assembly”:

• Plug the QI receiver into the Kindle and fold it onto the back of the Kindle.
• First, insert the bottom of the Kindle into the case and gently push it so that the QI receiver sits correctly in the recess.
• Then, press the top of the Kindle into the case.
