Description
I have dozens of in-ceiling speakers installed around my entire home and outside around my pool. This past summer we repainted the entire home and the speakers needed to be removed. Upon re-installation the contractor notified us that the retention clips had deteriorated over time and were no longer able to be used to hold the ceiling speakers in.
I contacted the speaker manufacturer and they said they do not make replacement retention clips and that my only option was to purchase new speakers at $280+ EACH. This is unacceptable. I spent 30 minutes designing this and another half hour printing some until I had a 1:1 match to the original. My contractor could not understand how I duplicated this and printed it. I had to show him what a 3d printer was. It melted his mind.
Print this in PETG or ABS if you intend to use these on OUTDOOR ceiling speakers. Printing in PLA/PLA+ is fine if they are going to be used indoors.
4-6 walls 45%+infill. No supports needed.
I simply hope this helps someone.
