Description:

Coaster set with maze-like surface and holder/organizer. Set consists of 3 parts: coaster, coaster base and base cylinder. You may use base cylinder as a small organizer at your kitchen/workspace. On the sample photos I put straws in it, but you may put in pencils, pens etc.

Print instructions:

The recommended print settings are:

  • 0.2 mm layer height
  • 3 perimeters (important, to make the links strong)
  • 15% infill (I use support cubic infill, but it is up to you)

Expect about 1-1.5 hours print time for a good quality print for coaster and around 2-2.5 hours for base & base cylinder (time reference for fast printers). For this set I used PLA, however you might use PETG.

To make multicolor print for coaster using above parameters you would need to create filament change command at layer 39 (coaster maze starts at height of 7.60 mm). Please check it on preview in your slicer.

Please bear in mind that set is parametric, meaning that it keeps really tight clearance on parts. I attach two versions of set:

  1. 0.15 mm for base & cylinder assembly, 0.5mm for coaster & cylinder. It would be easier to put cylinder into a base without too much force, however it would be just a bit loose. I recommend this version if your 3D printer is not doing well on dimensionally accurate parts
  2. 0.00 mm for base & cylinder assembly, 0.5mm for coaster & cylinder. To assemble coaster base & cylinder you would need to apply the force - I recommend using hammer for lightwork or regular hammer with rubber pad. As a result we get solid structure without any backlash

Try out combination of different colors, I really wanted to try out black & white coaster, black base and white cylinder, but on the publish date I didn't have it. Wish you all nice printing!
