Description

Background

I recently got a xTool S1 laser machine and was looking for a solution to get rid of the exhaust gases to have the machine run in my flat.

Idea

I checked the most common resources on the web and found some window exhaust solutions. However, none of them were from my point of view well designed to work on a tilted window. Therefore, I decided to create an own design. The goal was to use the printed part together with a 3” hose coming from the inline fan that I have in addition in my setup. So, first priority was to keep the cross section. In addition, I wanted to have the exhaust somehow connected to the window frame so that it can not slip from the window by accident. I realized this by some noses in the area of the inner window frame and the fact, that the weight of the hose pushes the front of the nozzle against the outer window frame.

Instructions

I printed the part in the following settings:

  • Material: PETG (but meanwhile I think PLA would also have done the job)
  • Nozzle: 0.4
  • Layer height: 0.2
  • Perimeters: 6
  • Infill: 25% Grid
  • Brim: 8 mm inner and outer / brim gap 0.5 mm
  • Support: Active with a threshold of 35°
  • Print sheet: Bambu textured PEI

Enjoy!

And leave a “make”-comment if you like :-)
