Description

A collection of wings (and more soon) to integrate with ThinkFun Maker Studio. Make working gliders, rubber band launched rockets, and (maybe soon, who knows...) mechanically powered planes and helicopters. You can find the 3 official Maker Studio sets here (1,2,3)

Cool wing info:

Airfoil: Clark Y
Cord Length: 3.5"
Attachment Angle of Attack: 2.13 deg
CL @ 2.13 deg: .55
CL max: ~1.5
CD min: ~.01-.02

Learn more about the Clark Y and other airfoils at Airfoiltools

These wing sections use a Clark Y airfoil. Created in 1922, this is one of the most popular airfoils of early flight. It was used on Charles Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis" for the first solo transatlantic flight. Due to its flat bottom, the Clark Y is easy to manufacture and remains popular among hobbyist to this day.

Let me know how well yours fit together! Mine snap in just right.

Feel free to edit, alter, modify, or otherwise do whatever you like with these. I've included a .STEP of on of the capped wings. If you do make a derivative or otherwise use these in something you post, please give credit and share alike!
