Description
The Eveready 6V Flashlight costs $5. It comes with a very bright LED, a nice lens, and with "no disassembly" required access to solder on your own power leads. It could easily be the basis for a desklamp, a bike light, super cheap fog lights ... whatever. And because it's a 6V light, you can even power it from USB (although to get full power you'd need to boost it from USB's 5V to 6V). Even at 5V though, they are plenty bright, e.g.: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:892007
This ring mimics the threads on the normal flashlight housing. You can make any sort of cover for the light itself that you want and in your design software, incorporate this ring to that to easily use this very cheap, rather powerful, LED light. I've also included the freeCAD source files to make using it in your own project, or modifying it, easier.
