In addition to the above parts, you probably want a piece of stripboard or a tie down plate for VCC and GND breakout. There are 8 wires by my count that are not VCC/GND...so this is a substantially easier wiring job than the previous Mk 1.
The price is also about 5 times as much as the original...but the parts are "source-able" and "not-from-a-dumpster"...
New Functionality:
Real Sounds (Plug in sound board, upload sound files).
Less Wires (Mainly a display breakout).
Joystick (Not canon per-say...but in an alternate universe...alt-Rick used a joystick...).
Rechargeable (Power board plugs into USB to charge).
