Arduino Base Board

My resolution for 2016 is to learn how to use Arduino, so I bought a set that includes a breadboard along with the microcontroller.

To save myself some juggling, I made this simple base-board to hold the Arduino and the breadboard still while I plug in stuff to see what happens. It also has a space to hold a 9V battery, come the time I need it.

It's two parts, cut from 3mm MDF, and fixed together with superglue (that's the stain at the top of the board, the glue dripped). The breadboard is a snug fit, wedged tight in the hole, but the microcontroller itself is not so snug (I'll want to use it "for real" eventually), so a blob of Blu Tac or similar stops it dropping out when I jump with excitement when a project works...

Arduinos are a standard size, but you might need to re-size the hole for your breadboard.

If you cut yours from materials thicker than 3mm, you might need to add a cut-out for the cables to the microcontroller.
