Description

This is a high light bulb changer. I'm was surprised to find none were on here.

This is for, you know, those super annoyingly high light bulbs that are over a stairway or some other awkward place. The bulbs you can't get to without doing some sketchy ladder work, yeah, those ones. This 3D printable adapter screws onto a paint (or shop broom) pole and (with the help of a soda bottle) allows you to change the light bulb from safely standing on the floor.

First, print the adapter with the large diameter (threaded side) down on the print bed. I used PLA with 0.3mm layers on a MakerGear M2 using Cura without support but using a brim. All part features printed great. No complaints.

There are two diameter sizes to fit different soda/water bottles. Glue the adapter into a bottle opening. Trim the bottle as shown in the photos. The conical section of the bottle is great for gripping the pesky bulb. Screw the adapter to a paint pole and you're in business.

I was able to unscrew a bulb with only the bottle plastic touching the bulb but it was a bit finicky. I cut some anti-slip cabinet liner material to fit inside the bottle and it was a 1000% improvement in the bulb changing experience.
