Star Wars X-Wing: Snowspeeder and conversion kit

An unofficial expansion for the FFG X-Wing miniatures game, the Incom T-47 airspeeder, more commonly known as a snowspeeder after the Battle of Hoth. I'll leave the rules up to you but for casual/epic/scenario games of X-wing it's always nice to have another ship to choose from. Especially if the other side has AT-ATs.
Scum and Villainy faction players could also use them as sandspeeders in the employ of Jabba the Hutt.

I took a picture of some X-wing miniatures next to the speeders to give an idea of relative size and noticed how much more detail the game miniatures have. Injection mold vs. 3D printing I suppose. However I estimate that each speeder (including support and raft) cost me 5 cents worth of plastic so it's still a win in my book.

Included is an X-Wing style base; the same size as the small fighter base but with firing arcs out the front and back. The unit number plugs into the slot in the back of the base.

Next is the speeder itself. They are small ships (5.3 meters long vs. a 12.5 m X-wing) so the printed model is only 3/4" long at 1:270 scale. The small size made this a tricky part to design for printing. The underside of the model doesn't have a lot of detail but on the tabletop you won't notice.

Finally I included a 0.76" long block in case you find a different speeder model and want to scale it for the game. First, place the block on the virtual build plate of your printing software. Then drop the speeder model on your build plate. Keep adjusting the scale of the speeder until it is as long as the block. Finally delete the block and print. This way you know the speeder will print out to 0.76" long, the correct size for games of X-wing.

1. The base is printed bottom down.
2. The speeder should be printed bottom down with supports on. A nail clipper might help for trimming off bits of support.
   You can print with the speeder pointing up and have an easier time cleaning off supports, but then the guns are not as strong and might deform during printing. Plus, the bottom isn't as important as the top and sides.
