Summary

A simple tool to allow power to be supplied to the side rails of a bread board from an outside power supply.

I had originally designed it with female banana plugs, but it was a little bulky for the pins alone to hold it on. A simple remix would be to get rid of the single hole, and add a pair of holes for two bolts to come through for screw posts.

Post-Printing

Get some perfboard that the holes will line up with the outside rails on each side. Cut the board down to fit within the box (see dimension pic), mine was 3x20 holes. Drill 2 4mm holes in the perfboard so they line up with the mounting holes. Tap the mounting holes with an M3 tap. Vapor smooth/harden the print as desired here.

While the print is hardening, solder 2 2x3 (or 4 1x3) header pins on each end of the perfboard. Mine had to bend a slight bit to fit into the breadboard. Run a wire to the corresponding pins on the each side (If you want both rails to be powered). Run the power wires through the hole in the top of the box, solder your power line to the appropriate pins. Pull the power wire through the hole till the perfboard pulls up against the box and place a small zip tie on the power cord just below where the board pulled tight, this will help prevent stressing the solder joints.

You can wire this as you wish. If you want both rows on one side ground, wire it as such. Mine is as marked on the breadboard (4 channels). Just remember to note which side is positive and which is negative. Mine is marked to indicate the outside channel polarity.

Mount the board using M3 screws.
