I uploaded a slightly modified version of these models that help reinforce the connection to the handle and should make the stick holder a little stronger.
I am a marching band show designer and instructor and these "gock" blocks are what I see most instructors and directors use. I have had one for like 8 years and finally decided to ditch the awkward mounting hardware I was using as a handle for a new 3D printed handle. I also decided to make a stick holder to make sure I don't lose it. The handle has a place to loop a lanyard onto, too.
I have been using this for a few hours worth of rehearsal and seems to be holding up well.
As far as needed hardware, I just designed this for screws and nuts I had in my scrap hardware box, but I'll give a basic description of what's needed.
The hex nut hole is about 12mm on the model, but I used a 11m nut and it fits really well.
The screw/bolt just needs to fit through the hole in the gock block and about 1"-2" long. The hole is designed with a countersink.
The handle is based on Captain Obvious's GoPro Handle

If there's anyone out there that actually prints and uses one of these feel free to let me know how it worked out!
