Description
This is a filament holder that works WITH the existing stock holder on the Wanhao i3 V2
As I'm sure you've noticed since you found your way here, the stock filament holder that comes with the i3 will flex and droop, causing your spool to scrape against the surface (whatever your holder is attached to) and obviously put strain on the motors of your printer.
Instead of completely redesigning a filament holder, I decided to create something to stabilize stock mount.
This is incredibly easy to install and goes opposite of the stock. Just unscrew the nuts, turn the rod around so it slides through the back end of the stock mount, slide your spool on followed by one nut, the printed mirror image of the mount, and the secondary nut.
Yes, if you change filament a lot you might be annoyed, by having to remove the side of your filament holder to do so - but it's an extreme stable and simple print that increases the stability of the stock holder drastically.
(Yes I've printed this and yes it works! no additional components required)
